Our Kindergarten Prep program is offered on Tuesday and Thursdays from 1:00 pm to 3:45 pm and is designed for children who will be eligible for junior kindergarten the following school year. Your child must be 3 years old as of December 31st.
There is an opportunity to combine three days of our regular preschool program and two days of Kindergarten Prep to offer an alternative to junior kindergarten for those children not yet ready for a full day of structured learning.
This program lays the foundation for a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. In addition to early literacy skills, your child will have the opportunity to explore science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematical concepts. Your child will also have the opportunity to become a part of a small community of peers and educators. In this community, they will learn about the importance of sharing, taking turns, building friendships, problem solving, self-regulation and self-help skills. A nutritious snack is offered daily.
Our Kindergarten Prep program follows the Ministry of Education’s, ‘How Does Learning Happen?’ This guide grounds the program’s principles and is the same tool that elementary school’s use in their pedagogy.
