My son enjoys learning through play at Elmira Community Nursery School! The RECE is respectful, organized, gentle and kind-hearted. At first he was nervous to attend the program, but she gave him the support he needed to feel comfortable in the space and program. He enjoys their special hands-on activities, bubbles, stories, trucks, blocks, and art. He has even started sitting on the potty at home and at school after seeing all his friends taking their turn on the child-size toilets. As a cooperative school, I’m able to participate in the classroom and see his learning first hand. The school is run by a board of parents and I like voicing my ideas to impact the school in a positive way. Covid protocols are also of utmost importance, with staggered entry, frequent sanitizing and hand washing at appropriate times, we feel safe. Thank you for creating a warm and fun atmosphere where my child feels safe to be himself!

The Elmira community preschool is ran by a dedicated community of adults. Students develop a love of learning with a resilient and generous spirit. Ideas are always encouraged and an appreciation for the unique and lively contributions of each individual is noticed. Miss Amy and her staff instills confidence with toilet training assistance and pursues each child’s own individual ambitions.
The School has guided my children to think critically and creatively and prepare them for the fun world of kindergarten. Everyday we receive lovely works of art and stories of their adventures. The school provides a nutrient based snack, Our children always looked forward to this.

We could not be more pleased with our daughter’s experience at the preschool. From our very first visit before she started, Amy’s passion for working with children has been evident. Every time she wakes up and it is a preschool day, she’s jumping out of bed and excited to go. There are always such an amazing variety of activities offered she comes home with lots of stories about everything that she’s learned. We are so appreciative of the time that Amy takes to input photos and documentation into seesaw to share with us. It inspires a lot more conversations at home. She also has nothing but amazing things to share about all of the other teachers who have been a part of her experience including Ms Yoko, Ms. Dianne and Ms. Robin. The communication from the preschool has been wonderful and we really appreciate the monthly newsletter.
Our daughters experience at preschool has absolutely prepared her for kindergarten. Her social skills and eagerness to connect with other children have grown so much. She is so excited and confident about going to school every day and I truly credit Ms. Amy, the other staff, and her overall experience.

After many months of lockdowns and covid restrictions, it was a tough pill to swallow when I realized that my toddler’s development was significantly behind. With no experience of being cared for anywhere outside of our home, I wasn’t sure how he would adjust to nursery school but felt he needed more opportunities to grow. But ECNS is a very warm and inviting atmosphere, with truly excellent staff, whose kindness is undeniable. My son loves to go to school! My son enjoys going to Elmira Community Nursery School. When we go to have a walk and see the school, he would want to go in and check whether his school is open. The teacher is very kind; she provides updates on the activities online, offers tips on how to help kids to learn and improve their skills. We cannot say enough about the great experience that we have had at ECNS. Our daughter has absolutely loved her time in the preschool room and it has played a great role in preparing her for Kindergarten. The highly qualified staff have provided a warm and inviting environment filled with a wide variety of activities and learning opportunities. Some of my daughter’s favorites have been circle time, story time, singing songs, painting, and playing with her peers. Nursery school has been the highlight of her week since beginning and she always has so many wonderful stories to share from her day!

Our son has been in the Toddler and Preschool program at ECNS. We have had an excellent experience and he absolutely loves going to school. Previously we had tried other options for care and they didn’t go as well so it was a great relief when he was quickly excited to be going to school. He loves the toys, the friends that he has made and is a big fan of the snacks that are provided as well. We highly recommend this school to everyone looking to get their children in a program! Both of our children have attended the ECNS preschool program. After having been only cared for by family members. Our daughters transition into the program was a bit tough in the beginning, as she was not used to leaving family. The staff and RECE were so incredibly comforting and kind to not only our daughter, but to us as well. Both of our children were excited to go to school, to make new friends, to play with new toys, and to learn some fundamental skills in preparation for Kindergarten. As a parent I loved the digital communication as I felt like I was able to see what they had done that day so I could engage my child in conversation when they got home. Overall it was a great experience for the whole family and made the transition into Kindergarten a breeze!
